Senior Selected as Semi-Finalist for National Honor Society Scholarship

Congratulations to Mount Mercy Senior Vayana Stoyanova! Vayana was selected as a semi finalist for the National Honor Society Scholarship.

Since 1946, the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP) has awarded more than $23 million in scholarships to outstanding NHS seniors. This year, they are awarding $2 million in scholarships to 600 students. Each year, scholarship recipients are selected based on their demonstration of the four pillars of NHS: Scholarship, Service, Leadership, and Character.

Vayana was selected out of well over 10,000 high school seniors from across the country as one of the 575 National Semifinalists. She will receive a $3,200 scholarship and is in the running to be one the 24 National Finalists and of course the final National Honor Society Scholarship recipient.

We are so proud of Vayana and we know this is just the start of her successful future!
